I have been to such expos and other than the big media coverage, nothing comes out of these expos. Notice that expos are trending because “small businesses”  are following blindly.

- Expos are the ones who actually benefit from such events. No matter how big the campaign is, no matter how big the media coverage is, Expo owners get the profits from small businesses paying for booths and from the sponsors.

- There is no professional way to decide on what small businesses to be chosen. There might be interviews, but at the end if the small business pays for the both they will get it. They do not check on small business backgrounds, health concerns or how professional they are.

- All the expos now are playing with the “Patriotism” line. Every single expo has to mention that it’s all about Kuwait, or support Kuwait or just do anything for Kuwait. cheesy?

- I said it before, to support a small business. Do not try to take money out of them but support them by buying their product.

I actually enjoy those small “in-house” type of expos where they actually take care on choosing who to accept. I can name many great small businesses that I personally do not think need an expo to expose them. By working hard and marketing themselves through social media they can be a success.

I personally have a list of small businesses that I order from and I have never seen them in an expo. They marketed themselves well and understood how to do business.

I advice small businesses, do not be fooled in trying to get into these expos. Make sure that you will gain at the end of the expo and not lose by buying a booth. Make sure that the owners are there for your support, not for their benefit. Social media is a great place for you now, if you know how to use it you will be successful. I will actually try out a small business I read a review for on a blog than a one I see in an expo.

I had a hard time when Meshari wakes up at night for his feeding and would never go back to sleep but stairs at the sealing instead and that is because the lamp is a bit bright and makes shapes of shadows on the sealing

At Pretty Little Things Expo I saw this night light at (Baby B) . and I thought this was the suitable solution !

This light is an eco-friendly light source. it doesn’t get hot . charge it for 5 hours and it will light up for 7o hours. and the light is not too bright. The sweet owner of BabyB told me that her 3 years old still uses it and keeps it with her in bed at night.

Yes I got this from Sanrio Japan…eyelashes are very very famous in Japan. Girls wear them everyday with their makeup… I swear I saw this lady applying her makeup and put on her lashes in the subway train

The video is talking about Higuaín and the offers he got before leaving to Kuwait. However, the vido is showing them leaving this morning from Spain to arrive to Kuwait at 5 pm.

I got to admit, knowing one of the people working with Midenz and the effort they did to change Kuwait club stadium (check their instagram). They have did a great job.

(the only pic I found online has Arabic instructions) Freetel had this matrix feeling about it. You can see the typing live on the application. People actually “dialed” and a subject would appear to you. It also had file transfer and all that. It was interesting.

IRC

This must be the best chat client ever made. This was a big hit in Kuwait and you needed to be in the “it” channel to be famous. All the pings, Ops and the crazy talks that go around there was more than enjoyable.

ICQ

If you remember this flower, then you definitely know “I Seek You”. I don’t think ICQ was picked up widely, yet it was part of the chatting clients that people used.

MSN Messenger

I guess one of the most famous (people I actually know) chatting clients. This was a more personal chat application. Remember the buzz and the animations they provided at the end of their time? (PS: Yahoo Messenger also comes under this part)

G-Talk

Although came a little late, yet I think it’s the most used chat client right now. I guess because it is embedded to their mail site.

Social Media Chats

Whether it’s Facebook or Twitter, these two created a new way of chatting. Currently used by millions around the world. Who knows who they will be conquered by?

Vinny’s is famous for their fresh sugar-free juices ,I ordered pomegranate juice and His had lemon with mint. the juices were served in cute bottles !

Things you must try for starters are the chips and the chicken pie, the chips comes with a very delicious sauce on the side. The chicken pie tastes as if it was home made..yum! and both are suitable for sharing…

For main course I got the creamy chicken salad and His had the Italian burger. My salad was really nice if you are a picky eater like His, this salad is for you it has only mixed lettuce and a really nice creamy dressing. for the burger His thought it was Ok but not the best he had tried.

For dessert we had the kinder bread pudding, His love it so much but it was too sweet for me.

We do recommend to try it out, now that they are open from 11 am so lunch is not a problem. Located in 52 Degree’s at Tilal.

I talked about this a few times on Twitter and I think it’s time for a post. Nasser Al-Mutawa tweeted some of the “Arabic” hashtags that were used in Twitter recently which you can see above.

For those who do not read Arabic the hash tags below are:

- Would you consider marrying a girl who has a Twitter account
- Your view about a girl who watches football
- Your view on girls using mobiles

All the above is a reason why Arabs did not create Twitter. We keep taking the “wester” ideas and try to adjust it to our wants. Twitter is created to have a place where freedom of speech for everyone and not the traditions of cultures. A place where point of view is respected (If and only if it does not disrespect anyone).

We keep attacking the “west” yet we use everything the “west” creates. If we are creative enough, we would only copy them and call it “Awitter” or something like that. Twitter goes global while we do not 1 Arabic site that is even regional. Our Twitter accounts is full of hate towards other believes, backgrounds, and anyone who does not agree with us. Why ruin Twitter?

I say if Twitter was ours, please do whatever you want….but it’s not.
