What Can A Pregnant Woman Wear In Kuwait!?

download (2)

Now when I first got pregnant I knew I had to shop for new maternity cloths when I looked at my older ones they were worn out and the colours were just washed off. So I went to stores that I’ve shopped from in my previous pregnancy and found out this!…

Top Shop have removed their maternity section and so did H&M. I was so counting on getting my jeans and leggings from there. Went to mother care to find out that the maternity wear section have been shrunk to a tiny section which mostly included pj’s and things that only a 70 year old woman would wear !

Now I was stuck with Destination Maternity “which is the only store in Kuwait specialised in maternity wear” and also have the granny clothes issue going on. except for maybe a couple of pieces from Jessica Simpson’s collection which are really over priced for something thats gonna fit for a couple of months only…

I ended up not buying anything and going to shop online. while I was at it I found out that most store we have in the malls actually do include a maternity wear online. And if we do we have them, they are the worst collection that the market could offer.

The question is where shall a pregnant woman get her clothes from in this country?!  and why did the stores all of a sudden decided to remove pregnancy clothes from their stocks. Did we all of a sudden stop having babies here in Kuwait? I really don’t get it :-|

That Feeling

Have you ever had this week where everything goes wrong, much more than you expected, leaving you high and dry and depressed, thinking that nothing in this world would cheer you up again and that you really hit rock bottom this tim.

And then all of a sudden, this thing happens!… that phone call, message , good news or awesome news to be exact.. it could be karma… or something you put so much effort trying to figure out and ended up thinking you were wrong about but turns out you were completely right about!

That exact moment would lift you out from your rock bottom over the moon… and you’ll be all happy and excited about life all over again. Not only that moment changed how you felt waking up that day, but it makes you regret all the misery you have put your soul into for the last few days or weeks.

That moment will make you feel fuzzy and cuddly filled with pink emotions all day long…

That moment you wish it would happen every day. But if it did… it wouldn’t have the same reflex… its so special in that way …it doesn’t last but you keep it last in your mind reminiscing about it for a while will keep you going on…

good night

Why not put the kids to sleep on put everything that makes a sound on silent mode tonight and indulge in a hot bubble bath, light a candle or two and take a long stress free hour in the tub.

Try to add a couple of lavender drops to that bath or to your oil burner.

Hair Salon Crisis In K-Town

In all my visits to salons in Kuwait weather for hair treatments, styling, cutting or dying , I have never went through any of that without being in an unbearable pain. The hair dresser or her assistance handle my hair like a rag ,as if its not attached to my scull! I swear to god ,not even once that I did not feel any pain while they work on my hair. And I honestly started to think that I’m too sensitive and this is how things should go in salons and that I just have to take it and shut up.

But deep down inside I know that a professional hair stylist should know how to take extra care of my hair weather while washing it, brushing it or styling it. She should know that my hair is as precious to me as any other part of my body. styling does not necessarily means hair damage to a professional.

Well that all was clear to me when I  visited a salon in Dubai to get my hair washed for I forgot my shampoos at home and I have just got my hair coloured ,so I really did not want to risk washing it with the hotel shampoo.  I went to a ladies salon and of course like most salons in Dubai the staff  are professional hair dressers with actual degrees. I washed my hair and blow dried it. I swear I did not feel any pain !not even once ,weather while washing my hair or  while blow drying it. I actually enjoyed the gentle hair wash with the head massage . She treated my hair with respect , just like a HAIRDRESSER should!

Then I remembered all the horrible pain I went through in salons in Kuwait and realised I was right all that time! It’s frustrating that we pay a lot of money for salons here and not get the service we want. hairdressers here in Kuwait have no educational background of the beauty field and sometimes no trainings at all. they would wash your hair like a dirty rag with no care to the damage of hair or the pain they put you through.

Teach Me How To Tweet

If you are Twitter fanatic, or at least get all your information/news from Twitter. Then you would know where this is going from the title. Before I write about it in details, I would like to share my thoughts on Twitter.

Twitter is one of the social media sites that made a huge impact on the world. It got us closer to many people and how they think. It gave us the extra space on the internet to express our feelings freely. Something really that doesn’t need to be taught. Everyone one can tweet, it’s like taking candy from a baby.

Two days back Dr Sajed Al-Abdaliy announced a new training course on how to “Tweet Professionally”. Now, with all due respect for the doctor, I am really against this. See getting easy money because unfortunately some people are easily fooled when it comes to such things. If actually people pay 150 KD for such courses, I say stop complaining about the money.

Twitter is not an educational site and to try to get benefits from it because “you think you know it” isn’t really the way to go. Having 100K followers isn’t really a true measure of your success in Twitter but most probably your success in your personal life. There are individual Twitter accounts that got famous on Twitter because they tweeted themselves and did not have to be celebrities to be exposed to the people. That is how Twitter should be used…be yourself and don’t be someone else.

That is why we wait for the west to start something and we try to “Arabize it” or get benefits from. We will never see an Arabic form of social media that the world will be using. Even ethics are thrown out the window when it comes to our side of the world and Twitter. Fake accounts to attack people, paying for retweets and tweets without believing or being credible (not even through Twitter) and lately Arabizing all the western celebs and figures. People can’t even notice the smallest “fake” accounts and they start spreading them around Twitter just for their own belief.

Just be yourself in Twitter with respect to other opinions and belief. That is the only thing you should know about tweeting.
