Just visited the KNCC website through the iPhone and noticed they have a mobile site. Mobile sites are a must now especially to decrease the amount of data used.

Now that the jailbreak is not illegal (but note that your warranty will be voided) ans I was asked about the benefits of jailbreaking. I thought I’d write a little post regarding the iPhone jailbreak.

First, the extra sources I use on the iPhone are:

These provide extra tweaks and add-ons for the iPhone. There are many other sources out there that you can find on the internet.

Now, what to download from cydia?

- 3G unrestrictor

I use my 3G all the time. I don’t have to wait to be somewhere with a wifi connection to use the internet. However, some apps such as the app store limit you from using the 3G connection. Therefore using the 3G unrestrictor will allow you to choose which apps can use the 3G connection.  I tried it with facetime today and it worked fine.

However, using facetime on 3G is a big no no. 9to5mac found out that 5 minutes of using Facetime will use 14.7 MB of data. That is approx 3 MB per minute.

- Winterboard

I love changing my iPhone theme all the time. This will enable any theme you download from cydia. Maaaany to choose from.

- Appsync/Installous

Well this is what you need to download any cracked apps. Use at your own risk Installous is used to browse those apps.

- YourTube

Download Youtube videos to your iPhone

- Lockinfo

This tweak shows mails,sms,missed calls on the lock screen without you having to unlock to read any of messages. very useful.

- Overboard

This tweak provides you the ability to show the the pages in one screen. Very useful for jumping through pages with one click.

- SBsettings

This provides you a quick dropdown menue from the main screen of the different settings. you do not have to go to settings and toggle different options on/off. All you have to do is swipe the status bar on the top and a drop down menu will appear with different toggle from the option menu.

- SIManager

To import/export contacts from your simcard

- yxflash

To play divx, flash and wmv files on your iPhone

I still  didn’t test all tweaks on the iPhone 4 and I am not sure which ones really work and which might make you restore your iPhone. Anyway, this is the basic jail breaking needs that you might use when you get your iPhone 4. I will inform you of any new tweaks out there once released :).

I just read at 4thringroad about the iKout game that was released a couple of days back.

So I just downloaded it for 2.99$.

In one word, Great !

It has a really nice user interface, nice sound effects, multi-player support and English/Arabic language. A job well done !

I downloaded this app because of the name really for $4.99. It is a Kuwaiti newspaper iPhone friendly reader. It contains the following newspapers:

- Al Watan Newspaper (الوطن)
- Al Qabas Newspaper (القبس)
- Al Seyassah Newspaper (السياية)
- Al Anba Newspaper (الأنباء)
- Al Jarida Newspaper (الجريدة)
- Annahar Newspaper (النهار)
- Awan Newspaper (أوان)

Although it is a nice app for newspaper readers, I personally think it is a little expensive for a newspaper reader.
